Saigon M&C Tower

Ho Chi Minh City

Our client is building a new high rise tower of 42 storeys with 5 basement, which will be a landmark in the city centre. Also with regards to the construction works, this project sets new milestones in Vietnam. Huge Kingposts had been installed in each pile in order to allow a full-top down working sequence building up to the 19th floor while carrying out the basement works simoultanously. Concrete of 70 MPa is used for the uperstructure works as well as for filling the Kingposts.

Bauer Vietnam has been awarded the foundation works based on an alternative proposal replacing barrette piles by bored piles of diameter 1,000 mm to 2,500 mm and depth up to 104 m.

Two high performance BAUER BG 40 drill rigs and Kelly technique with 2 Kelly Extensions (17 and 7 m) were required to execute this kind of work.
Shaft grouting had been executed using the "Tube-a-Manchette" technique and double packer system. A total number of 3.200 manchettes had been injected. The works had been executed following exactly an ideal working program prepared together with our client and finished well ahead of the contractual completion date.

Scope of Works:
122 Nos. of Bored Pile Ø 1,000 mm to Ø 2,500 mm; up to 104 m deep, partly with shaft grouting
