Tan Son Nhat Airport Expansion

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Tan Son Nhat International Airport was required to extend its passenger terminal in order to receive 13 million passengers per annum instead of its previous capacity of 10 million passengers. In consideration of time consuming and cost saving, the bored piling option proved to be more advantageous than the precast piles, hence the bored piling foundation was selected. Bored piles of 1,000 mm and 1,200 mm diameter with the maximum depth of 50 m were designed in order to transfer the load to subsoil.

Due to the fact that the construction site was next to operating airport, the environment and safety aspect was required at prioritised level for compliance. BAUER Vietnam Ltd paid its full attention to complete the work with zero accident.
